Using the Bible in Family Prayer
At the December Parish Intergenerational Faith Formation session, we explored the Bible. A Bible and/or Bible story books are important additions to the prayer space in your home. Keeping the Bible front and center will remind us to open it up and read it! One great way to get to know the Bible is to incorporate reading Bible stories into our family prayer time. Go here to get some ideas for how to explore the Bible as a family!
Celebrating the Christmas Season
As a family
When do you take down your Christmas tree and put away the decorations? When do you put away the nativity scene? Did you know that the Christmas season, at least as defined by our Catholic liturgical year, doesn't even begin until Christmas Eve? Then it continues until the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, which is Monday, January 8 this year. Why not celebrate for the whole season by leaving the decorations up, singing Christmas carols, enjoying the special Christmas treats, and doing good for others? If that seems like too big a change in your traditions, consider at least leaving the nativity scene out and visible as a reminder that the season continues.
